For example, Tawkify mentions over 200,000 “successful connections” but doesn’t tell you what a successful connection is or how many people didn’t achieve whatever a successful connection is.
What this means is that the only way to determine which dating app is the best for marriages is to turn to outside sources.
Researchers from the University of Florida and Gonzaga University conducted a study.
Published in 2013, researchers from two major universities conducted a study titled “Marital satisfaction and break-ups differ across on-line and off-line meeting venues”. The main goal of the study was to compare the success or failure of relationships between online and offline meeting.
While that wouldn’t help us, the researchers left us a nice hidden nugget in the process. When researching the success and failures of online relationships, researchers asked which dating app the respondents used to meet and tracked their results accordingly.
Here are the results.

The data also looked at marital satisfaction and marital breakups — with the same winner.
The good news for eharmony extended further beyond just being the app responsible for the most marriages. The study also looked at quality of the relationships, which is important.
According to the data, eharmony had the lowest percentage of marital breakups at under 4%. That means over 95% of the people surveyed who met on eharmony were still married.

In short, not only did the study suggest that eharmony helped to create the most marriages, but it also suggests these marriages were higher quality and more likely to last.
There are some things to be aware of to fully assess the data.
As with any data study, it’s important to share any additional details that might be important when qualifying the data.
- The data study is from 2013, which makes it over 10 years old. It is still the most current data of this quality that we have and may still be representative of the quality of each app.
- Not every dating site was reflected in the study, though, an ‘other’ option was given, which should accommodate for those situations.
- There are newer dating apps that have been created since the study was done.
Overall, we still give weight to the data, especially because our reviews lead us to believe that eharmony is the best dating app for marriages. That said, it’s always important to give complete information.
