Here are our findings.

Three Day Rule leads with results, free perks, and approachability

When it comes to professional matchmaking services, Three Day Rule is the best in the business. The offer unparalleled attention to detail, a whole suite of support services (at no extra charge) to help you succeed, professional matchmakers who won’t ignore your deal breakers and non-negotiables, and they do it all at a fair price with safeguards in place to ensure you get your money’s worth.
If you’re ready to learn more, here’s a link to schedule a completely free introductory call (no obligation). It’s the best way to ask any additional questions you might have that we don’t cover in our Three Day Rule review.
For those of you who want to learn more first, let’s get into it! There are several things we love about Three Day Rule and a few areas we’d love to see some improvement. Let’s take a look now at the most critical things you should know.
They’re one of the only transparent matchmakers with a clean track record.
Something you may have noticed (or will notice if you look enough) is that the world of matchmaking services tends to operate in a cloud of secrecy. No one posts prices. No one posts membership options. No one shares details about their members. Everything is kept as secret as possible for as long as possible.
Why? We’d argue that this is done so that sales people can get you on the phone and try and extract as much cash from you for a membership as possible. Providers will get you on the phone to try and figure out what you do for a living, what your “budget” is, how desperate you are, and ultimately, how much they can squeeze out of you.
What we love about Three Day Rule is that they are one of the only matchmaking services that doesn’t do this. They post transparent pricing (which we’ll dive into shortly) and clearly lay out the membership options.
Additionally, many other matchmakers have had trouble with lawsuits, unhappy customers, and a sea of complaints that should leave anyone terrified. With Three Day Rule, we see none of that—and that is a big statement.
Here are a few of the comments from real reviewers:

“I can’t say enough great things about Three Day Rule. I’ve tried other matchmaking services before, but Three Day Rule is by far superior. The personal, caring, committed approach is second to none. The men I met through Three Day Rule were looking for serious relationships. Three Day Rule is like having a best friend whose only concern in life is to find you love. Take the plunge!”
Lena – ER Physician (and Three Day Rule client)
“I think every single busy professional should give Three Day Rule a try. For me, pre-Three Day Rule was like getting lost in the ocean – it is exhausting, aimless, and stressful. I got serious burnouts from endless swipes and dead-end conversations online. When I received my first match – I thought, “Wow!” And now, I can’t wait to receive my next match. With the help of Three Day Rule, dating is finally fun again.”
Ashley – Product Development (and Three Day Rule client)
The added perks are a clear sign they want you to succeed.
Where Three Day Rule separates itself from many of the other top matchmaking companies is with the added perks that come standard with a membership. Not only do you get the intimate and approachable touch of a master matchmaker helping you curate dates, but you also get several additional services to give you the best chances of success.
With your membership (no added cost), you’ll get free access to a dating coach to help you make the most of your dates. Additionally, you’ll get a free photoshoot with a professional photographer so your portfolio pictures they show to potential matches are 10 of 10s.
Note: When we spoke with Talia Goldstein (the founder and President of Three Day Rule), she let us know that yes, you get to keep these photos and can use them elsewhere (like on a dating app) if you want to.
Service is limited to 11 U.S. cities.
One of the drawbacks of Three Day Rule is that it’s not in every city. The company only offers service in Boston, Chicago, LA, Miami, Orange County, NYC, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and Washington DC.

If you live in one of these cities or you’re willing to travel to one of these cities to meet someone, this negative becomes a positive. Because Three Day Rule focuses on highly specific areas, they don’t spread themselves too thin and end up with a subpar service. That said, if you don’t live in one of these areas or aren’t willing to travel for the perfect match, Three Day Rule is not going to be a good fit for you.
It’s not the largest, but that may be a good thing.
It can be tempting to jump to the matchmaker with the most members, like Tawkify with over a million members or It’s Just Lunch which services 110 cities around the world. However, size is definitely not everything (and can be a negative) as you’ll see within this review, so keep reading.
That said, a matchmaker needs to be at least big enough to be viable and Three Day Rule is miles and miles over that mark. According to the company, they have roughly 200,000 members which is massive, especially for such a specialized unique company. We’d argue as well that there may be a point where a matchmaker can be too large and start to lose that personal touch.
For us, Three Day Rule’s size is large enough to have plenty of quality matches, but small enough to still offer the intimate, and hands-on experience you’re paying for.
Three Day Rule Cost
As we mentioned, Three Day Rule is one of the most transparent matchmaking services when it comes to pricing.
The company has two membership options to choose from (and what you get from each):
| Features | 3 Month Option | 6 Month Option |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $5900 | $9500 |
| Guaranteed Dates | At least 3 | At least 6 |
| Professional Photos | Included | Included |
| Dating Coaching | Included | Included |
| Deal Breakers | Included | Included |
| Pause Membership | Included | Included |
| Convert Unused Time | Included | Included |

Yes, it’s probably expensive for most people, no matter how much disposable income you have. That said, this is on par with the pricing we see of other matchmaking services, and we believe it comes with so much more value. Remember, you’re hiring a one-on-one person to find the love of your life; it’s going to take a lot of effort and work on their end.
Why does it say “at least” 3 or 6 dates?
The reason it says “at least” is that what you are guaranteed through your contract is one date per month for the duration of your membership. However, if they happen to find other people they think are a good fit, they’ll send them to you at no additional charge.
Again, this is not something you see with most (or any other) matchmaking services. To us, this is clearly a sign that they genuinely care about your success, which is probably why most of the testimonials and reviews are so strong.
What are the added features mentioned in the table?
Great question! Here is a quick description of everything listed in the table as a Three Day Rule feature.
- Price – This is your “all in” price for the membership. It’s paid upfront and includes all fees, add-ons, and other costs (outside of something like buying drinks or dinner on the actual dates).
- Guaranteed Dates – This is the minimum number of dates you’ll go on with your membership. As mentioned, you may end up getting more dates at no cost, depending on who they find for you.
- Professional Photos – You’ll get a completely free professional photo shoot with a professional photographer.
- Dating Coaching – Your membership will come with free sessions with a dating coach to help increase your chances of success.
- Deal Breakers – Your matchmaker will take the time to learn your six biggest deal breakers that are non-negotiables. Your matches will be guaranteed to fit these criteria. (Note: This is a big deal as the main complaint with most other matchmakers is they ignore these).
- Pause Membership – We’ll discuss this more in a minute, but it’s the ability to pause your membership while you’re dating someone you meet, so you don’t lose the time you paid for.
- Convert Unused Time – We’ll discuss this more in a minute also, but it’s the ability to convert unused time to dating coaching sessions if you meet someone and it turns into a relationship.
There is a VIP option
Okay, technically there are three options. While it’s not listed anywhere publicly, Three Day Rule does offer a VIP service if you’re looking for a higher tier of service. We’d argue that their normal tier or service is more than plenty for most people, but if money is no object and you want the best of the best, it’s something worth asking about on your introductory call.
What happens if you meet someone…
While it might fall under ‘a good problem to have’, people always want to know what happens if you meet someone and you haven’t used all of your time. With a lot of companies, you just lose it. With Three Day Rule, though, you have options.
If you meet someone and want to see where it goes, you have the option to freeze your membership for up to three months. This way, you can really see if that relationship goes anywhere without losing what you paid for. If at the end of that time you’re still with that person, you still don’t lose your credits. You can then turn those in and exchange them for continued free dating coaching to really help that relationship succeed.
Pretty neat, and not something you see at many places.
So…Is Three Day Rule Worth it?
If you’re looking for a dedicated matchmaking service that over 200k members, a great track record of success, transparent pricing, a ton of added perks AND you live in one of the 11 serviced cities (or are willing to travel), then we think Three Day Rule is at the very least worth taking the next step and scheduling a free call to learn more.
